Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 20, 2026 · Last updated: August 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how TechKnoGeeks, operating WeConvertFiles (“WeConvertFiles,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information when you visit weconvertfiles.com or use its tools. For privacy questions, contact official@techknogeeks.com.

1. Summary

2. File and text processing

Supported tools use browser APIs and JavaScript libraries to process selected files or entered text on your device. Our implementation does not intentionally transmit that selected content to WeConvertFiles or a remote conversion server to produce the result.

This does not mean the whole website is offline or that no network communication occurs. Your browser must request the website, and some tools request code, fonts, or other resources from third-party content delivery networks. Those providers may receive ordinary request information such as your IP address, browser details, requested resource, timestamp, and possibly referrer information. Our implementation does not provide them with the contents of the file or text you selected for conversion.

Processing also depends on your browser, device, extensions, operating system, and available memory. We cannot control software installed on your device. Downloaded results are stored wherever your browser or device is configured to save them.

3. Information handled when you visit the website

Website and security data

Our hosting and content-delivery providers may process data such as your IP address, date and time, requested URL, browser or device information, referrer, and response status as part of standard server and security logs. This helps deliver the site, maintain reliability, prevent abuse, and investigate incidents. This log data is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes, plus any period required by law.

Browser storage

We use your browser’s local storage for functional preferences such as theme selection, dismissed interface notices, and your analytics-consent choice. Local storage is not the same as a cookie; it remains in your browser until it is removed by the site or cleared through your browser controls.

Analytics

If you give consent, WeConvertFiles uses Zoho PageSense to understand how the site is used. Depending on its configuration, PageSense may process page views, clicks, scrolling, referrer, approximate device or browser information, session identifiers, and tool events such as selection completed, conversion started, conversion completed, or download clicked. Our integration does not include selected file contents, entered text, filenames, or converted output in analytics events.

Analytics does not load before you make a choice. On your first visit we show a consent banner, and PageSense is requested only after you select “Accept.” You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the control, also available in the site footer. Withdrawing consent stops future analytics but does not undo processing that already occurred. PageSense data is retained according to our account configuration and Zoho’s policies.

Advertising

We do not currently display third-party advertising on WeConvertFiles. Advertising helps fund free tools, and we may introduce it in the future. If we do, we will update this policy to name the advertising providers, describe the data they process, and—where required—ask for your consent before any non-essential advertising storage or identifiers are used.

Messages sent to us

If you email us, we receive the information in your message, your email address, and related message metadata. We use it to answer the request, investigate a problem, protect the service, or maintain appropriate business records, and we keep it only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes. Do not send confidential files, passwords, private keys, access tokens, or identity documents through ordinary support email.

4. Purposes and legal bases

We process information only for purposes supported by applicable law. Depending on the context, these may include:

5. Sharing and service providers

We may disclose limited information to providers that help us host, secure, analyze, or support the site, only for the relevant purpose:

Provider type Purpose Data categories
Hosting & content delivery Site delivery and security Request and security-log metadata
Zoho PageSense Consented analytics Usage events and approximate device data
Third-party CDNs Code and font delivery Request metadata

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and security, or as part of a legitimate business reorganization subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell selected file contents or use them to provide conversion services on remote servers.

6. International transfers

Some providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use or rely on an appropriate transfer mechanism and safeguards for such processing.

7. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose, including security, support, legal, and accounting needs. Selected file contents processed locally are not retained by WeConvertFiles for conversion.

8. Your choices and rights

You can clear cookies and local storage through your browser and manage optional analytics through the control. Browser controls may affect site features.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent, and to complain to the data-protection authority in your jurisdiction. These rights can have legal exceptions. Contact official@techknogeeks.com, and we may request proportionate verification before acting on a request.

US state privacy rights (California and others)

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA). We have not sold or shared personal information in that sense in the preceding 12 months. If you are a resident of California or another US state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and appeal, and a right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. To make a request, email official@techknogeeks.com with the subject [Privacy].

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the service. No website, device, email system, or method of transmission is completely secure. Keep backups of original files and avoid processing highly sensitive information unless you have independently assessed the workflow for your needs.

10. Children

WeConvertFiles is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children below the minimum age at which they can consent to online data processing in their location. We do not knowingly ask children to create accounts or provide personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information through a support message.

11. External links

WeConvertFiles may link to third-party sites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the service, vendors, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy and update the date above. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request renewed consent for a materially different use.

13. Contact

For privacy questions or requests, email official@techknogeeks.com with the subject [Privacy]. Do not send sensitive documents unless we provide a suitable method and explain why they are needed. See also our Terms of Service.
